New Year's Eve

I've been spending a lot of time on deviantART the past few days. There are many great artists posting so much new work....makes me think I need to step up my game.

I was very impressed by this photographer LittleFlair. She is 16 years old and already has a massive archive of wonderful photographs. She also captures beautiful self portraits.
Here are a few of her photographs to inspire you to click the link....

Hair Trends for 2011

The good news for me....Marie Claire says that "Messy, Natural Waves" are in for winter 2011...now I can pretend that it is a fashionable choice rather than nature's nightmare.

They also like "Extreme Side Parts" and "Messy Braids"

And here are a few more....

Gregory Crewdson

I thought it was about time that I posted some fine art photography again.
As wikipedia put it "Gregory Crewdson (born September 26, 1962) is an American photographer who is best known for elaborately staged, surreal scenes of American homes and neighborhoods."
Crewdson has taken the idea of the "constructed image" to a new level that few will be able to recreate. He is known to shut down Main Street of a town, controling every moment with his mega phone. Stop lights will be paused on yellow, found actors will be told to "hold your breath in 3, 2, 1", and giant spot lights will rain down from the sky as if God as parted the clouds.
Crewdson may be a bit of a control freak, but with access to a budget like that....why not.
***Warning: some images contain nudity***

Crewdson newest exhibition, Sanctuary, features a very different style of work.
